BRICS'S IMPACTS ON AFRICAN ECONOMY

 Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) will have both negative and positive impacts on African economy.

According to Scholar of sanctions and economic statecraft, Ahmadi Ali says Russia and China they are using African countries only to ease their economic sanctions against westerners.

The sour relationship brought by Russia-Ukraine war, forces the Moscow to allow many countries to join BRICS to enhance trade for maintenance of its economy.

Meanwhile, South African president Cyril Ramaphosa warmly welcome the BRICS ideas of dedollarisation as it will help African countries to import goods with members of BRICS without using dollars.

The use of minerals as currency for trade among member-states, will promote mining industries in African countries hence boosting the economy.

More than 20 African countries attended 2023 BRICS summit despite being allies of westerners.
